Hello Romance Slam Jammers,
Your hosts are excitedly awaiting your arrival. We are all as excited as new parents, wanting to show you our city. Your hosts are packing as much fun into three days as we possibly can in the hopes that everyone will see our beautiful city as we do.
When you return home, we hope and pray that you will have had such a wonderful time that you will return to our beautiful city on your own to explore the “D” at a more leisurely pace.
Just think, we are just a couple of months away from the kickoff to “Reeving it up in the ‘D’” and the celebration of Romance Slam Jam turning 21.
We plan to run you every day for the three days that you’re here. So, remember to bring your dancing shoes, your tennis shoes, and your slippers to rest your tired feet at the end of each and every busy day.
See you in April!
~ Sussie Chenault (RSJ 2016, Co-Host)

Daily Tours: Thurs. & Fri. (April 28th & 29th) (see conference schedule for times):
Hitsville U.S.A. ($12 not included in conference fees): Despite the passage of time since Motown Records’ establishment in 1959 by Berry Gordy, tens of thousands of visitors pass through Hitsville U.S.A., home to the Motown Museum, each year. Their presence is a testimony to Motown’s legacy and to the charisma, talent and staying power of the music and those who made it.
Wright Museum ($8 not included in conference fees): The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is the world’s largest institution dedicated to the African American experience. Our mission is to open minds and change lives through the exploration and celebration of African American history and culture. Our vision is of a world in which the adversity and achievement of African American history inspire everyone toward greater understanding, acceptance and unity!
