April is finally here! The meals are in the oven. The table is set. And now we’re just waiting for our guests to arrive! In just a few weeks, many of you will be here in the “D” making new friends, improving your craft, discovering new authors and books to read and review. So, to help ensure things go smoothly, here are some things to note:
UGRR Tour Cancelled: I regret to inform you that the Underground Railroad Tour scheduled for Wednesday evening has been cancelled by the tour company, due to a problem accessing 2nd Baptist Church on the day in question and lack of participation. If you have already paid for the tour, your money will be refunded.
Airport Shuttle: Unfortunately, the Edward Village Hotel (formerly, the Royal Dearborn) does not provide airport shuttles. So, we have made arrangements through SKOOT for a discounted group rate of $39 round trip. You can book online at www.rideskoot.com or call 313-230-2331. Use the group code: “RSJ2016” to receive the discounted rate. It is highly recommended that you call 24 hours ahead of time to book your reservation.
Zumba with Eve Vaughn: Don’t forget to pack your exercise clothes! Eve Vaughn is a certified Zumba Instructor and she will be hosting classes Thurs. & Fri. morning in the DeSoto Room from 8-8:30am. Just because you’re away from home, doesn’t mean you have to break up your exercise routine.
Hotel Room Reservations: If you booked more rooms than you need, be sure to cancel so your credit card is not charged.
