Just one more month! The clock is winding down and soon we’ll be gathered in Detroit enjoying another RSJ conference. Whether you’re an author, reader or industry professional, there will be plenty to occupy your days and nights.

Wondering what to do with your tax refund? Why not use it to attend RSJ 2016? Register by the end of the month to get the regular conference rate. On April 1, the late registration fees kick in. Register today! (The conference registration fee gains you entry into all Romance Slam Jam 2016 Conference Activities.)

The Big Book XChange: Don’t forget to comb through your shelves and boxes of old AA romances and find up to 3 books you can bear to part with and bring them along to XCHANGE for “new” old AA romances! Just remember it’s a book-for-book exchange, max 3 books per person. Pssst: For you collectors, I have it on good authority that there will be some of those old, hard to find titles – so be sure to take your time and browse through the over 300 titles available! (Unclaimed books will be donated to local libraries.)

UGRR Tour: For those of you interested in taking the 2nd Baptist Church Underground Railroad Tour on Wed night YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE. Please call 734.642.5712 for credit card payments or send a check or money order payable to Hometown History Tours to PO Box 284, Lincoln Park MI 48146.

Motown & Wright Museum Tours: Just a heads-up that we are providing our own transportation for the tours (a 15-seater passenger van). So, seating is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you would like to attend a tour, we recommend you send your ticket fees ahead of your arrival (P.O. Box 510812, Livonia, MI 48151) to secure your seat.

Keynote Speaker – RSJ 2016

love-between-the-covers-poster-romance-slam-jamMovie Screening: Have you heard about the new industry film Love Between the Covers? We will be screening it twice during the conference. This feature-length documentary features bestselling authors of the romance genre speaking candidly about their own experiences, including our very own Beverly Jenkins.

Wondering What to Pack? Most of the daily workshops are in a classroom-like setting so business casual is fine, but there are a couple of events where we get to put it on jam. The Detroit Princess Dinner Cruise is an after-five event, and the Emma Awards ceremony is a banquet. As such, both require semi-formal attire. In other words, don’t hesitate to bring the sparkle!

T-Shirts: Book club members show your pride by wearing your club T-shirts Friday (during the day). Best T-Shirt is one of the categories that will be judged at the Book Club Pep Rally Friday night. Saturday, everyone break out your RSJ T-Shirt and let’s show the world that we really are a family!

Souvenir Book: There is still time to get your ad in the souvenir book! Whether you plan to attend RSJ 2016 or not, you can STILL get your latest release and products in front of EVERY SINGLE CONFERENCE ATTENDEE! Buy an ad in our souvenir booklet today and get BIG exposure for a little price!

Next Up is the Host Check In.
